Common questions from students, parents, and tutors. Can't find what you're looking for? WhatsApp us.
You submit a request with the student's level, subject, difficulty, and any scheduling preferences. We review the request and recommend a suitable tutor from our network. You receive the tutor's profile details before confirming. Lessons begin after both sides confirm the arrangement.
Most requests receive a recommendation within 1–3 business days. Some specialist subjects may take slightly longer depending on availability. We will keep you updated throughout the process.
There is no upfront registration fee. A one-time matching fee applies only after a successful tutor placement. You do not pay anything unless a suitable tutor is matched and lessons commence.
The standard matching fee is equivalent to one month of tutoring, calculated based on the agreed rate and lesson frequency. This is a one-time administrative fee for the placement. It is not a recurring charge.
Yes. We support both online and in-person tutoring. Online lessons are conducted via platforms like Zoom or Google Meet. Online tutoring is often more flexible in scheduling and can be slightly more affordable, as tutors save on travel time.
We cover a broad range of subjects across Primary, Secondary, JC, IB, CAIE, Polytechnic, and University levels. We have particular specialist strength in Economics, Business Studies, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, and Commerce. See our Subjects & Levels page for the full list.
If the tutor arrangement is not working out after a reasonable number of lessons, we are available to discuss feedback and assist with finding a replacement where possible. We do not simply disappear after the match is made.
For online lessons, students may request to record sessions for personal review, subject to the tutor's agreement. This is particularly useful for students who want to review explanations at their own pace.
You can submit a tutor application via the For Tutors page. Provide your qualifications, the subjects you teach, your level of experience, and your preferred rate. Applications are reviewed before any placement is made.
There is no fee to apply or join. A commission is only deducted from the first month's payment when a successful placement is made. You do not pay anything upfront.
You indicate your preferred hourly rate when applying. Truly Tutors may provide a suggested market range based on your qualifications and the subject, but your rate is ultimately set by you. Standard market rates are listed on our Subjects & Levels page.
Lesson payments are made directly between the student or parent and the tutor. The matching fee commission is collected from the first month's payment. Ongoing payments after that are between you and your student directly.
There is no single mandatory qualification, but tutors should have a strong academic background in the subject they wish to teach, and ideally some prior teaching or tutoring experience. All applications are reviewed individually. Specialist tutors are expected to demonstrate depth in their subject area.
Yes. You indicate your available days and timings. Lessons are scheduled based on mutual availability between you and the student. You are not assigned fixed hours by Truly Tutors.
Both formats are supported. You can indicate your preference (online only, in-person only, or either) when applying. Students also indicate their location preference, and matches are made accordingly.
There is no limit. You manage your own schedule and can accept or decline placement offers. If you are at capacity at any point, inform us and we will not forward new requests until you are available again.
Once both parties confirm the arrangement, you are connected directly with the student or parent to schedule and begin lessons. Truly Tutors is available for coordination support if any issues arise during the engagement.
Yes. Tutor details, including full name, contact information, and photos, are not published publicly without your consent. Only relevant credentials and subject information may be shared with a prospective student during the matching process.
